Gitga’at celebrating ‘huge victory’ after court rules province failed in duty to consult

CBC News Jan 13, 2016

The B.C. Supreme court has ruled that the province “has breached the honour of the Crown by failing to consult” with the Gitga’at and other Coastal First Nations on the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline.

In 2014, the federal government approved the controversial pipeline that would bring Alberta oil to B.C.’s north coast.

Man Boobs or Moobs, and the causes

Here’s a pretty good article on the toxic environmental causes of man boobs.  I rather doubt that a calcified physician is going to tell his/her male patients that the very drugs the doc is giving them will cause this (or if they do, they will likely dismiss this side effect as being *necessary* so that the drug can *fix* the patient.  Pfft.

Neither will the calcified medical professional tell his/her patient that environmental toxins from their cookware to detergents are also causing moobs.

They’d much rather make some more moula doing surgery or having the patient return for umpteen medical appointments to *get to the reason* for the gynecomastia.   Or worse, the physician has invested in the stock of the pharma drug he/she is prescribing for the gynecomastia.

And I’m willing to bet that somewhere along the line, the calcified professional will hint that the man has some psychological issue resulting in the growth of breasts.  I can’t say that I have actual knowledge of this…just a hunch.  And if so, I would not be surprised to learn the physician has invested in psych drugs.

Seriously, I think every patient needs to not only do their own homework before ever entering a physician’s office, but come with a warrior attitude and ask questions of how much  a doc has invested in pharmaceuticals or how much they know of environmental toxins.  The answers will tell you what you need to know about the physician’s true interests — is it in making bucks and going along with Big Pharma; or is it a true healing physician?

And ladies, don’t think that this only applies to men.  Everything that affects hormones affects both sexes in different…but significant ways.

Be well, my friends.

Whitesboro, New York

So, there’s a town with an emblem that looks to some of us as an aggressive action of a white guy towards a Native American.  They say in this article that it’s not what it appears, yada, yada, yada.

When I was viewing it this morning, I wondered if people would be so complacent if it were a black man?  Given the history of aggression towards the Native Americans, it comes across as a symbol of victory for the White Europeans.  Just my take.

I asked a young Native American if it bothered her.  She said it didn’t bother her as much as the commercialization of Native Americans.  She specifically mentioned the dreamcatchers now available in WalFart and Penneys, and so forth.  She feels that her culture is being taken away from them.  That it is disappearing.  I agree.

Commercialization is all about making a profit.  It is not about spirituality.  It diminishes the significance of the culture.  It is a subtle reduction of powerful connectedness.

Holistic doctors poisoned –MK Ultra?

I’m sorry, but I can’t help but draw parallels to this report of holistic/naturopath doctors who were unknowingly given a hallucinogenic drug without their knowledge….and MKUltra, a CIA program that gave LSD and other hallucinogens to unsuspecting people, then observed them behind double mirrors.  But it’s all good, because it was done in the name of science and trying to counteract bioweapons….um-hmmm.

I swear that I did not know of this when I posted on MK Ultra. All of these deaths, including Dr. Jeffrey Bradstreet (still no answers yet), came about at the same time.  I don’t care if I’m called a conspiracy theorist…especially now that we know it was a CIA creation to make those of us who ask questions and don’t settle for pat answers out to be idiots or tinfoil hat wearers…

…and it bothers me that people like Erin Elizabeth feel the need to state “I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but…”

I’m a conspiracy theorist when I see things start to connect.

That doesn’t make me a tinfoil hat wearer, but an observant, intelligent person who thinks independently.

Update on Kalamazoo/Great Lakes Vulnerability

Here’s a report that states there is STILL OIL in Kalamazoo River, FIVE YEARS after the spill.  Not only that, but the Great Lakes area has become a magnet for Big Energy.  Indiana, for one, doesn’t give a rat’s behind about the environment.  They have actually appointed an energy industry insider to the Indiana Department of Envronmental Mis-Management (IDEM)…and the governor’s brother.  What a joke.  They must have been guffawing behind closed doors at that one.

(And once again, I am shocked, shocked, at a reporter actually practicing journalism.)

Moving radioactive waste

The problem with this story is this sentence:

Since then, cleanup crews have returned to his property about eight times and recovered about 50 pounds of the material.

The reader is lulled into believing that the waste has been taken away and the fear of nuclear waste is…gone.  Tra-la-la…

Only it isn’t.

Now it’s been moved to another area (probably a poor/minority neighborhood) to be forgotten.  Out of sight, out of mind.

We’ve been under this delusion that either we can move radioactive/hazardous material away from us, over *here* to someone else over *there* (who doesn’t have the resources to fight it.

And like the Kalamazoo spill, the people affected by it “just moved to another location”…and there was yet another oil pipeline close by.

Can we admit to ourselves that there really is no safe solution to nuclear or hazardous waste?  That we have been far too willing to believe that nonsense because it was conveeeenient?  That there are less and less spaces without contamination?

After 20 Years: The Disastrous Impact of Welfare Reform

What an excellent blog by Jan Resseger. We’re being lied to of a false economic recovery…and I think part of the reason is to deny there are poor people in need or to claim that they are just being lazy in this *booming economy* so that they can deny them food stamps and other help. What an utter disaster Bill Clinton foisted upon the poor.
In Indiana, if someone on food stamps earns more than $100, the state will start taking away food stamp dollars….while they give Bankers and Corporations millions of dollars in tax breaks…

A couple of months ago, speaking to a large, diverse audience in Cleveland, Ohio, Jonathan Kozol joked that as a Jew, when he has the opportunity to address church audiences, he takes great pleasure in reminding Christians about the meaning of the words of Jesus.  On a hot summer night in 1999, when Kozol presented the keynote at a United Church of Christ General Synod—taking his text from John,  21: 15-17—here is what he preached: “When Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘If you love me, feed my sheep,’ he didn’t say, ‘only the sheep who dwell in the green pastures.’  He didn’t say, ‘only the sheep whose mothers please us by acceptable behavior.’ He didn’t say, ‘only the sheep whose fathers have good jobs and mothers come to PTA.’  He didn’t say, ‘only the sheep whose parents make smart choices.’  He didn’t say, ‘only the sheep who have two…

Shell’s Kitimat LNG proposal is first to get key permit

100,000 new jobs??! Really? Even if I believed that inflated number…which I don’t…what good are jobs when the air is polluted so that you have rampant asthma/lung disorders; with the land polluted so that you cannot grow healthy food; with the water polluted so that your health declines to the point you cannot work? Does this make sense to anyone? Not I.

Saskatchewan conservation officers confiscate moose meat harvested by First Nation hunters

Does anybody else get the irony of landowners claiming the indigenous are trespassing….? Let that sink in a moment…
Not to mention the conservation officers/gov’t. officials who fail to recognize that the indigenous were caretakers of these lands (including the United States) for over 10,000 years before the European invasion and they managed it quite well…?
As a side note — I agree that eating the traditional diet would be helpful towards diabetes epidemic, but cutting out gluten and processed food would go a long way towards taming the diabetes. And fasting, too — see former post on fasting curing diabetes. Be well, my friends.

APTN National News, January 6, 2016
Indigenous hunters say they are being harassed and bullied by Saskatchewan authorities who don’t understand their treaty right to provide food for their families.
The chief of Pine Creek First Nation said Wednesday that conservation officers raided two homes last month and confiscated moose meat harvested from Pine Creek’s traditional territory, which crosses the Manitoba-Saskatchewan boundary.

Dental work and mercury vapor

FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY!  A news service that actually does journalism!  Will the wonders never cease?  /snark

McClatchy has this up on what you, your dentist, and others in the dental office breathe in every single freaking time a mercury dental amalgam is drilled.  The ADA should be ashamed.  And the public should be up in arms about this hazardous waste being put into their mouths!
