Where to buy non-GMO seeds

It’s going to hit 40 degrees here today!  Woot!

So…with thoughts of Spring…I thought I’d pass along a tip for finding seeds from non-GMO companies.

I think we tend to feel a little small in our ability to fight against the behemoths like Monsanto, Dow, et al, but we do have power.  Vote with your wallet/pocketbook.  They can’t be behemoths if no one supports them.  If your future and your children’s future is important to you, then support the folks trying to keep non-GMO seeds alive.  That can only happen if we support them.

Wow.  I wish I would have had a tenth of her moxy back when boys were calling me “ugly” “dog” and “goon” during my teen years.  Actually, I did say something, and things only got worse, instead of better.  Add a teacher that couldn’t care less, and you’re pretty miserable.

I’m glad she has a supportive mother and I hope that it’s the end of it, instead of the beginning of bullying.

Hard life lessons fuel Elsipogtog man’s passion to stop frackers

I can’t imagine any white landowner just passively standing by while an oil company moves in and starts sending poisonous water through a shaft in fracking or for oil exploration. Why should the Mi’kmaq be any different? I mean, they are only requiring that the oil companies TRY to get the Mi’kmaq permission. They aren’t mandating that they get it in writing, and who is paying what to whom, who is responsible for damages, environmental concerns, etc. This would not be tolerated if it were a white landowner.

2000+ students opt out of Common Core Standards test in NJ, hundreds walk out in New Mexico

Thousands of students in New Jersey opt out of controversial PAARC tests

Students in New Jersey are taking new controversial tests for the first time, and some parents and educators are not happy with the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) exam.

The test is for students in 3rd through 11th grades, but some students can opt out.

In one district in Middlesex County, approximately 30 percent of the students did just that, and about 1,000 opted out in Livingston. At Allendale High School, about 250 students declined over what parents say is a ground swell of concern about the overall objective of the exams. And according to reports, 1,000 students have opted out of testing down in Livingston.

Many say the students are too overwhelmed with testing, adding that the idea of a well-rounded education is being pushed aside because the testing…

WTF__by_UndineCGThere are times when you hear something so utterly stupid in the news that for just a moment you assume it’s a comedy skit or satire.  Well today was one of those days.  I wasn’t quite sure as to whether or not to save this for the Weekend Funny as in some regards it is hilarious.  However, when you look at it the proper light it really isn’t that funny at all.  In fact it says a great deal about how little our Minister For Women/Prime Minister understands about the issues relevant to his portfolio [he’s also Minister for Indigenous affairs and no he’s done nothing to assist and has in fact cut funding across the board].

So here’s the funny – the federal LNP have decided to host the lunch for International Women’s Day on March the 8th at the Tattersall’s Club in Brisbane.  The kicker here…

Yoga for lymph system

I’ve had some interest in this blog recently, so I’m reblogging it. It’s Spring (I don’t care what anyone else says!) and that is the traditional time to detox the sludge out of the body.

I have noticed when I do these exercises, that I start getting sinus drainage with neck/shoulder/knee massage…interesting….

Did you know that the lymph system is as important for circulation as the respiratory system?  I sure didn’t.  The lymph glands in my neck have been swollen since 1995.  I had one amalgam placed in 1991, and the other three that did me in, in 1994.  One year later, I began getting the monthly migraines.  I also was exposed to melted plastic when I worked in the office of a car parts manufacturer.  We were attached to the factory, and someone had a machine on that molded plastic parts.  I never got the full story of what happened, but the accident had to have been huge, as I smelled burnt plastic in the office.  My glands were swollen from then on.

So…I’ve noticed when I’m chelating, that the glands go down to normal size.  When I stop the round?  Back to swollen again.  This seems to be an issue…

We did it!! 100,000+ signatures against forced vaccinations!

There are signatures from every state in the union!  I encourage anyone feeling alone in the fight to keep our right to what goes into our bodies to read the list.  It was really heartwarming for me to see all the folks out there.  Now they will not be able to say there are just a “small group of people” against forced vaccination.

We still have three more days before deadline, let’s see how many more we can get!

Fudging the Petition numbers… **UPDATE

So…I noticed Sunday that the numbers had not moved on the petition.  I thought it was strange because it had been growing steadily….

It hasn’t moved since Saturday, so I decided to check and see if it would count me with a faux name.  It has not.

I thought perhaps it was because it’s the same IP address, but then I thought that would be unfair because several people could live at one address and use the same computer IP.

So the logical conclusion is that the numbers are not correct and people are not being counted.

I could be wrong, but unless I see differently….

***UPDATE:  Well, what do you know….suddenly we have 20,000 new signatures in a few hours’ time.  Imagine that….hmmm…
