I removed the other post because it was taking up too much space. Here is the link to the post. I’ve just heard news that Israel has once again seized the main vessel of the flotilla attempting to get supplies to Gaza.
Setting the Record Straight About the Apostle Paul by Rocket Kirchner
…a little Bible study on Saturday night. I love the thought of Paul being egalitarian and that his writings were misconstrued to mean something entirely different by those seeking power and control. Very interesting.
Chris Christie the Glutton
Well said. It never ceases to amaze me how they indulge in the very behaviors in which they put others down.
Dr. Jeff Bradstreet’s family asking for help to fund an investigation
His family considers his death suspicious and are asking for donations to help fund an investigation. Please donate if you can.
The trouble with Trump…
…so tonight I’m watching a TV program about Donald Trump and his mouth…and how the Latino hosts of the Latino version of Miss America have quit their jobs in protest at Trump’s racist proclamation that the immigrants come here to commit crime and rape women…blah, blah, blah….”.but some of them are okay…”
Meanwhile, they show clips of the Miss America pageant with women in bikinis….(you all know where I’m going with this)
…and while protesting the treatment of immigrants and of the racist comments, they say nothing about the objectification of women…of parading women around in skintight or barely there clothing…putting their bodies under scrutiny so we can judge whether they are pleasing to the eye or not.
Are they Barbie-dolls or less than perfect…?
Do they have a brain in their heads? (Who cares, as long as they look good?)
This pageant puts women in that light — not to be taken seriously. Or if they are taken seriously, they better still look good, too.
Just watch any comments thread about a woman who speaks with strong opinions…you will see many that describe her physically in dismissive terms.
I have a new found respect for Jon Oliver after this piece, related to this subject:
Dr. Bradstreet
Someone posted a link to the video below of Dr. Jeff Bradstreet, who died of a gunshot wound. It has been ruled a suicide…but who shoots oneself in the chest to die a slow painful death? It isn’t jiving with me.
The video is very informative and if all this is new to you, you may need to view it more than once. Most of this I’ve already read about. And I know from my own mercury poisoning experience that inflammation is a HUGE factor. And that it was not there before I was poisoned, so it is definitely linked.
45 ex-military members ask drone operators to refuse to “fly”
Brandon Bryant, Ann Wright, among 43 other ex-military are asking operators to refuse to fly illegal drone missions. They feel that these flights have taken innocent lives and are not Constitutional, which they have sworn to uphold.
Brandon is also shown here on Democracy Now! a couple of years ago. He clearly has been affected by watching a person bleed out after he fired his missile from the drone:
We have no business in Saudi Arabia’s fight in Yemen. We have no business using drones to kill people just because somebody says so — as others have pointed out, where is their due process? How do the operators know that these people are going to harm others? Just because somebody says so? Where’s the facts to support that? What about it being a cowardly way to fight –not giving the target a chance to defend themselves?
As Brandon points out in the video, he killed a child. A child.
TransCanada Trespasses in Unist’ot’en territory – June 2015 update
Wow. They don’t take “NO!” for an answer… I am so impressed with her quiet strength and standing her ground. More power to her. If you’re so inclined, please say a prayer for her and her tribe to continue to be strong against fierce opposition.
Throughout May and June, TransCanada has made repeated attempts to survey for their CoastalGaslink pipeline by trespassing in Unist’ot’en territory. A new checkpoint has gone up on the Chisolm Forest Service Road, while supporters at the main camp encountered a helicopter that landed without the clan’s consent and kept it grounded until the hereditary chiefs could be reached. The clan continues to make sure that no pipelines will be built on their unceded territores.

ACT to Advise Colleges About Prospective Students Using Info Not Available on Student Reports
This is just sooo over-the-top! The control freak nature of this just gives me chills. How presumptuous of them to form an opinion of a student. How can they possibly justify this…?
deutsch29: Mercedes Schneider's Blog
ACT is revamping its test, creating new scoring subscales and combining other scales in new ways– and it also plans to advise colleges and universities regarding predicted student success in given majors.
Thus, ACT is intentionally shifting its role from reporting test scores to advising postsecondary institutions regarding admissions decisions.
There’s more:
Students will not be privy to the advice ACT is offering regarding ACT’s predictions of student success. None of this info will be part of the student score report. Such info will be between ACT and postsecondary institutions.
And not only does ACT believe it has a right to both form and communicate its opinions of student success to colleges and universities; ACT is fine with forming some of its judgments based upon unverified, volunteered student self-report information.
All of the above info and more can be found in this June 22, 2015, Examiner article written by DC…

The Power of Socio-Cultural Programming
A great piece on diversity and examining our own issues. I am so grateful for my Liberal Arts education, but until I became poor while white, the true comprehension of how difficult life is and how difficult it is to get out of poverty were not realized. This also came with a gift of realizing strengths I did not know I had, and how much more resourceful I could be with what I am given….and putting wealth in perspective. Having things does not make one more valuable…in reality, it is a prison. The more things– the bigger house, nicer car, nicer clothes, etc., –are traps. People end up selling their souls to prove their worth to fellow humans.
