Preventing Ebola, enterovirus….

Until yesterday, NOBODY from the CDC or other official agencies had stated what people could do to prevent contracting Ebola or Enterovirus.

Joy Reid, MSNBC, had a professor from Louisiana State University and he said we could simply prevent getting the disease by….drum roll please….washing our hands.

Radical, I know.

One has to wonder why the CDC and others would not repeatedly state this in order to give people the tools they need to protect themselves?  The hysteria being created now warrants it.

Good old soap and water are your best bets against getting sick.  Not hand sanitizer.   I was taught at the Health Department that you should sing the “Happy Birthday” song in your head while washing your hands, for the proper amount of time.  My Science journalism professor told us the reason for friction is that it is the way to kill the microbes, and the soap is what lifts it off the surface of the skin.

I found a pretty good video on proper handwashing:

Be well, my friends.

Glucuronidation: one of the body’s detox pathways

I am forever in awe of our bodies and how they perform every day miracles of protecting itself from toxins.

Today, I learned another term from the wonderful mercury support group: glucuronidation.  It’s apparently another chemical reaction in the body that helps the detox pathways to work properly.  Isn’t this fascinating?

Note how your everyday drugs can interfere with the body’s own design to take care of itself.

I’ve recently started taking ibuprofen to head off a migraine.  It worked a couple of times last month, and I took some this morning because I felt another one coming on.  It’s the only time I will take it anymore–because it can cause damage to the intestines, and it damages kidney cells.  So I have to really feel that  migraine is coming on in order to risk the harm to my body.  I figure that a migraine is much, much more harmful and devastating.  I feel so weak afterwards, it has to be doing some damage…especially when I lose five pounds with them (and then gain it back).

I cringe at the thought that I used to take ibuprofen almost on a daily basis, back in the day.  With being exposed to mercury via coal dust, and amalgam in baby teeth, and being gluten intolerant, I  had been taking ibuprofen for symptoms that would go away with proper detox.  It’s that slippery slope–where the body is damaged, resulting in pain, and the man-made drugs help for a time, but with interfering with detox pathways, make everything worse–and the person takes more of the drugs to relieve the increasing symptoms…and on…

Now, with the glucuronidation knowledge, there is even more reason not to take these FDA approved drugs unless there is an overwhelming reason to do so.

And Big Pharma thinks it’s quite all right for you to get worse on their drugs…more profits for them.

Hope my dear readers find this as fascinating as I do.  Isn’t the body wonderful?

A discussion on population…

Gene Logsdon has put up a post on his thoughts on population growth and food availability.

It’s a touchy and uncomfortable subject….to say the least.

It brings up eugenics–there are stories out there of people like Bill Gates and the Rockefellers advocating for population control via eugenics and even through genetically modified food.  There is a video out there of Bill Gates advocating vaccines for this purpose.  I don’t know what to make of the video, so I’m not posting it– you’ll have to go find it yourself.

I think advocating de-population is morally and ethically wrong.  We get into the self-righteous, superiority of those who think they are *more special* than the rest, therefore, they should live while others die.

The comments are as interesting as the blog–with one suggesting that the population growth perhaps was a spiritual one of bringing more light into the world….

…with that, I would disagree.  There is so much negative energy on Earth that I would happily volunteer to go right now if God would take me.   Just give me enough morphine to stop my heart, and I’m good to go…

Speaking of negative energy, I was just thinking last night how much I missed teaching.  I enjoyed it and the kids’ earnest quest for knowledge.  I also liked that I didn’t have to put up with office politics nor office gossip.  When I was teaching, I would stay in the room and eat my lunch so I didn’t have to hear the teachers gossip (yes, they gossiped…mostly about stupid substitutes…).  I went in, did my job, and went home while avoiding all of that negative energy.  I didn’t have to put up with the tired questioning of my single status–there is definitely a prejudice against single people in this country.  The downside, of course, is the pay and the work-on-demand instead of a steady schedule.

And if you try to avoid the gossip and cut people off…as some suggest you do…you’re still screwed because the gossips then turn on you as a target.  I’ve actually had that happen to me.  I ended up leaving a good job because of it.

I suppose the questioning of population growth is related to our bad economy…not enough jobs that pay living wages….while jobs are shipped to other countries for even lower wages…and Burger King and their ilk go to other countries so they don’t have to pay their fair share of taxes….while war hawks push us towards another war again…while not taxing the rich….

Yeah, I’m in a negative mood…how could you tell?  😦

ALEC and Fossil Fuels

PRWatch has this up on ALEC continuing its dirty campaigns against everything that is logical.

From the piece:

ALEC is even going after people who want to generate solar power for their homes. The boom in home solar energy generation—there has been a 60 percent increase in domestic solar installations in the past year—is a threat to ALEC’s dirty energy producing members, so they have a bill to amend so-called net metering laws that allow homeowners to sell excess electricity back to the grid. It is the ability to do this that makes solar an increasingly affordable possibility for homeowners. ALEC’s bill would charge homeowners additional fees, with ALEC environment task force director John Eick telling The Guardian that these users are “free riders on the system.”

~~~~~~~~
You know, it’s one thing to try to promote your heavy-metal containing pollution, but it’s a whole ‘nother thing to try to prevent people from taking a proactive stance against your dirty fuel.  Unreal.
Solar energy has sooo many benefits–one of which is independence from the greedy energy producers whom have stripped our lands of trees, poisoned our water and soil, and then not paid for the land use nor taxes on top of that.
Sixty percent increase in solar energy use…just in the last year…this is a *huge* threat to them.
Mike Pence, doing ALEC’s bidding, along with the coal industry.
Not long ago, Indiana ranked in the top five for low cost of electricity. Now, thanks to an onslaught of regulations from Washington, Indiana ranks somewhere firmly in the middle of the pack.
~~~~~~~~~~

Reading between the lines, this is as much an admission of guilt for polluting our air, water, and soil with heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic) from coal. They were getting away with it until regulations prevented the free-for-all.

I keep thinking about that 17 million pounds of toxins put into our waterways every single year…and BP dumping mercury into Lake Michigan every single year, courtesy of Indiana Dept. of Environmental Mis-Management….and the lack of action when the toxic spill floated down the Ohio…

My own Big Pharm stories

I thought I should tell my own stories related to prescription drug reactions–

In 1991, I took a drug called Seldane for sinus issues.  I was also taking a drug called Synarel for endometriosis.  This stupid drug was developed to put a woman’s body into premature menopause…under the misguided notion that the women’s period was the cause of Endometriosis ( I now believe it is related to gluten intolerance and heavy metal poisoning–since the symptoms began around the same time of coal ash exposure.)

As you can probably guess, there was a reaction…

One night, after taking the Synarel and Seldane, I began to get ready for bed.  I was in the bathroom, brushing my teeth, etc., when I dropped a bottle of rubbing alcohol.  As I reached for it from the cabinet, the bottle just passed through my hand as if I was not gripping it at all.

When I bent over to pick it up, my left arm went numb and began to swing aimlessly–as if I had no control over it.  I knew something was terribly wrong.

My heart was racing at an incredible speed–not even during the most strenuous aerobic exercise did I ever feel it beat that hard and that fast.  My chest felt like an elephant was sitting on it.  There was an incredible burning in the center of my chest. I had all the symptoms of a heart attack.

I could not talk for about five minutes.  My brain was screaming “something’s wrong!” but I could not get my mouth to move to tell my ex something was terribly wrong.

The episode subsided–that is, the emergency symptoms subsided, and I was able to call my pharmacist, who was at a party and didn’t really want to be bothered.  He said it was just a reaction and that I should continue taking the drugs! No way.

And being a woman, which the medical profession considers “emotional” and “hypochondriac/psychotic”…it was hard to be believed when I told of my symptoms.

A neurologist actually said that I had a complicated migraine…even though I had the classic symptoms of a heart attack. Every afternoon, when I walked up a small hill to the mailbox, I again was hit with numbness down my left arm.

Two years after this episode, the FDA finally banned Seldane because of the side effects.  It had to take a woman dying of heart arrythmias before the drug was removed.  I later learned that they took the ingredient out that caused the arrythmias, and remarketed it under another name.

Then I find out that Synarel, too, causes heart palpitations, dizziness, chest pain, nausea, etc….

Women are not believed when they present with symptoms of a heart attack.  There are those who say that women don’t always have the same symptoms of men for heart attacks.

I remember sitting in the local hospital’s emergency room when a woman walked in, complaining of chest pain.  She was told to sit down in the waiting area.  Had she been a man, she would have been ushered back to the rooms immediately.

I have read of women who thought they had heart attacks but were not believed.  When they did autopsies after death, the woman had, in fact, had several heart attacks.

As you know, I’ve gone on to overcome this episode–resuming aerobic exercise after a period of rest and recovery.  I was scared sh*tless, I tell you, when I first began exercising again.  But I thought that I couldn’t just give up.  Little did I know that was a precursor of things to come…

And here I am, after struggling through one of the darkest periods of my life, finding the answer that no damn doctor ever diagnosed, and now the Big Pharma run FDA, has taken away one of the chelators that helped me get well.

Somebody please explain it to me…because I don’t understand that prescription drugs that did me a great deal of harm were approved by the FDA, but something that was not that helped me get well, is now by prescription only?  Doctors are not knowledgeable about chemistry, according to Dr. Cutler.  They are not required to take more than a couple of classes in chemistry, so they don’t understand the complicated nature of heavy metal chelation…and yet I’m supposed to trust them, after all I’ve been through?

Not a chance.

Progress

So…you all might recall I blogged about the vulnerability of the Irish to heavy metal poisoning due to a genetic factor…

…my other sister dropped a bombshell last week at the funeral dinner–she had her daughter tested because of health issues…and….drum roll please….she has the double gene responsible for the inability to detox heavy metals.

I knew it….but I couldn’t convince my siblings that because we were Irish, we were more susceptible.

They had a hard time believing that my stupid amalgams had made me so ill.  My sis was a dental hygienist in another life, so she was brainwashed into believing that stuff was perfectly safe.  She was exposed to it eight hours a day, five days a week.  I won’t go into her health issues, but there’s plenty to point towards mercury poisoning.

And yet, it’s still hard for her to wrap her brain around–because she just noticed the red spots on my arms–that have been there for over ten years–probably closer to fifteen years.  She thinks that’s a sign of allergies.  Yes and no.  Allergies are worse with mercury poisoning and many on the support group have some sort of skin issue like mine.

I explained to my sister (she lives out of state, so I don’t get to see her that often), that my red spots got much worse when I worked at the state mental hospital that was located near a cement plant that burns hazardous waste.  I found out a couple years ago that it was spewing mercury into the air.  This just clicked for me that my red spots got worse when I worked there, and then started to disappear when I moved out of town after losing my house.  The thing is–when I chelate, the red spots itch like crazy and become an angry red.  And when they do go away, there is a pink scar left on my forearm.

I’ve passed another milestone that indicates I am progressing, however slowly–my long time readers might recall I mentioned warts on my thumb and middle finger.  The warts on my thumb began to disappear a year or two into chelation.  The middle finger, however, was still there.  Until now.

It was getting itchy and red during chelation, but still remained until this week–where the body finally dealt with it and tada! I no longer have the wart.  Incredible how the body is such a miracle.  I knew that viruses cause warts, so I was waiting for the immune system to take care of it.  Doctors, of course, want to just remove the warts without thinking about why the wart is there and if there is something gone wrong with the immune system…?

So…yeah…a little progress, but a giant leap as far as I’m concerned.

And knowing that I was right all along about the Irish genetics is just wonderful.  Validated.

Now if they’ll only listen to me about Dr. Cutler’s protocol and start chelation before things get really bad…

…and following a grain free organic diet…but yeah, that’s probably not going to happen–lots of resistance, but I can hope, can’t I?

The shootings in Santa Barbara

(Side note~Migraine is gone…weird.  I felt like I was getting one Tuesday, and then it went away.  Probably due to the new stress of job and getting away from all grains and chocolate….it’s going to be interesting to see how my body re-adjusts, if my migraines are any clue.)

I got the rare chance of watching Melissa Harris-Perry this morning.  I don’t always agree with her conclusions, but do enjoy the stimulating program.  She talked about the Santa Barbara shootings and the gender bias of the shooter, Elliott Rodger.  She mentioned a video by him, but refused to play it, so I went looking for it on youtube:

Wow. Just Wow.  Two minutes into this video, and you can see why women rejected this guy.  Narcissistic. Self-absorbed. Playing the victim. Shallow. Entitled.

Over and over again, he claims rejection by women and doesn’t understand why.  Over and over again he says “these beautiful blonde women” are out with “douchebags”….when they should be out with “wonderful” him.  Women have great intuition (which they don’t always listen to) and probably could see this guy’s warped view of himself and the world and his negative energy towards them…as is now known by his murdering people.

MHP’s guest stated that this guy had a sense of entitlement.  I can see that in the video.  By his view, he was such a “terrific” guy, and was entitled to the beautiful women, but couldn’t get them….so he killed them.

There are so many things tied to Elliott Rodger’s view –one of which is the society’s rape/violence culture against women.

Rodger focuses on rejection by beautiful women.  I would lay bets that there were women who liked Elliott…but they weren’t “beautiful” on the outside.  He probably treated them badly…as he claims he was treated.  It’s okay, you see, to treat women who are “ugly” by society’s standards in a disrespectful and dismissive tone.  This makes me so angry I could spit nails right now.

They brought up that Elliott was autistic.  Okay, you all know what I’m going to say next…he was a high functioning autistic, with apparent aggression and rage — both tied to mercury poisoning.  Will anyone explore that possibility while investigating this case?  Probably not.  And another chance at recognizing mercury/heavy metal poisoning/toxicity’s influence in crime is ignored.

From the first link:

Studies involving a large sample of autistic and schizophrenic patients found that over 90 % of those tested had high levels of the milk protein beta-casomorphine-7 in their blood and urine and defective enzymatic processes for digesting milk protein(92,93,83), and similarly for the corresponding enzyme needed to digest wheat gluten(92,94)

Due to the large number of vaccinations that are now containing mercury thimerosal, most children have been documented to receive mercury exposure far above the government health guideline for mercury, and the number of causes of autism has increased over 600% in the last decade[81,A,43b].

[…]

A group of violent criminals had signif. higher levels of hair lead and cadmium levels than non violent controls(62b)

[…]

Studies at the Argonne National Laboratory found that the majority of delinquents and criminals had high metals levels such as cadmium and lead, and to fall into 2 categories. One group with high copper and low zinc, sodium potassium tended to have extreme tempers, while another group with low zinc and copper, but high sodium and potassium tended to be sociopathic(115). But it was found that treatment of delinquent or violent prone individuals for metals related problems including nutritional therapy usually produced significant improvements in mood, violent behavior, and functionality- with complete cure in the majority of cases (115,119,120).

~~~~~~~~
A note here about hair analysis–Dr. Cutler is of the belief that hair levels are helpful, but not 100% indicators of toxicity.  Time and again, mercury poisoned folks have tested low mercury on hair tests — NOT because they are not poisoned, but rather, because their bodies are not secreting mercury.  They lack the ability to efficiently rid the body of mercury.  Once they began to chelate, and their poor bodies were able to function half-way decently, their hair tests have changed to high mercury levels.
It is almost a rule that on the mercury support group, that we are gluten and dairy intolerant–lack of enzymes since mercury interferes with it.
It will be interesting to see the developing story.  God Bless the parents and loved ones who lost someone.
Diet and Health, via Weston Price **edited
A member of the mercury support group posted this link to the Spring Caustic Commentary on the Weston Price Foundation website.
It’s pretty informative for those who are unfamiliar with Weston Price’s work.  He was a dentist who traveled the world, observing the indigenous tribes.  He discovered that they had perfect teeth–no dental decay.  When they became industrialized, and ate a more Western diet, their dental health began to suffer.  Price also observed the changes in mouth structure–before the Western diet, the parents had bright, wide smiles….but the generations afterward had more narrow smiles and misshapened teeth by overcrowding the mouth.  And yet, Western doctors refuse to see the connection between diet and overall health and wellbeing.
**edited to add the link. Geesh.
Getting started potting plants
Farmer’s Almanac has a blog up on getting plants starting in pots.  If you’re living in the city, where you can’t have a traditional garden, potted plants may be the way to go.   I have heard of folks using their balconies…but if you don’t have even that, perhaps the owner will allow you to put the pots in a sunny location.  The only drawback is that potted plants require more water than those in the ground, as the ground can supply moisture and protect roots from drying out.
Related to this–one of my Sedum Autumn Joy plants died.  It was in a pot (because I wanted to take it with me to Fort Wayne) and this winter was just too harsh for it.  Fortunately, I had also planted one here, so I still had one of the plants I brought with me from my house.  It has a huge sentimental value because I had first planted it when my son was young.
I also planted some of my tiger lilies from my house, and they apparently are doing well.   It’s bittersweet…because then I think about my house and what I would be doing at this time of year.
Hope you all get out and go play in the dirt. 🙂
(A side note~I probably won’t be blogging as much.  I’m starting to feel like I did before when I worked full time–I’m just pooped after working.  I’m hoping that it’s just a temporary thing until I get acclimated…and not the stupid mercury.  I know that I’m less toxic now than I was before, but perhaps not as far along as I had hoped.  Time will tell.)
It’s Not Safe to Breathe in New York…
…or anywhere else, for that matter.
Although the small town I’m in has beautiful blue skies, when chemtrails are sprayed, I can’t go outside for any length of time–as turning pale and getting a swollen face and getting a migraine were the result of jogging outside when chemtrails were heavily sprayed.
Same with Fort Wayne–when I jogged on days of ozone warnings, I thought I could jog early in the morning…nope.  I was wheezing by the time I got back to my apartment.
Nature.org has this up on the costs of pollution to all living things…
Here is a paper on thyroid cancer and nuclear energy…
