If you feel like an outcast, take heart. Sometimes the reason you don’t fit in is because you are surrounded by satanists and you are not. And they know it. And they may suddenly surround you, after so many years of mocking or belittling you. Because you have something they want. Don’t give your power to them. I am a truth teller and truth seeker.

Parents risk dying for Dyett and neighborhood public schools #FightforDyett #WeSupportDyett12

September 11, 2015 by eagle

…more evidence of the class wars. How sad is it that parents have to fast to be treated with dignity, respect, and fair distribution of tax dollars?

Dr. Julian Vasquez Heilig's avatarCloaking Inequity

Parents and community members are entering the 4th week of a hunger strike in Chicago. While the issues may seem at first glance specific to Dyett High School, the protest is really about the top-down, private control school reform regime in Chicago and elsewhere. In essence the parents are demanding

  • An open-enrollment neighborhood public school.
  • A school that is properly resourced.
  • A school that is community-basedand provides children 21st century skills rather than rote learning.

These are also the coreissues ignored by top-down, private control schoolreform in New Orleans, Detroit, Tennessee etc.

I was blown away by Anna Jones’, one of the parents involved in the Dyett Hunger Strike, recent testimony.

My name is Anna Jones. I have four children. My three youngerchildren are in elementary school, and my eighth grader will bestarting high school in the fall.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel closed 50 schools in “low-income neighborhoods” for…

Hawaii: Eight protesters arrested on Mauna Kea

September 11, 2015 by eagle

Why are these people being arrested?? Seriously…why are they being arrested for exercising their right to freedom of speech and to petition their government to address their grievances? This is a sacred area for the Natives and they deserve to have a tiny bit of their traditions recognized and respected.

State conservation officers arrested eight protesters  on Mauna Kea early Wednesday morning for violating the state’s new emergency rules that prohibit camping on the mountain, a Department of Land and Natural Resources spokesman said.

DNLR officers arrested seven women and a man at a protest camp across the road from the Mauna Kea Visitors Center for being in the restricted area on the mountain.

Kids as a captive audience

September 10, 2015 by eagle

There’s nothing like forcing an audience to listen to your propaganda, er I mean information….never mind that they are not old enough to discern facts nor are they old enough to have a job and buy the products.

Oh, but the parents will be persuaded to buy certain products because either the kids are brainwashed or the school highly suggests that the parents purchase products from favored corporations.  And if your child doesn’t comply…well, we’ll just single him/her out as “hurting the community…”

…let the bullying begin…

Unknowingly, I saw this happening with my own kids.  Like most trusting parents, I thought it was harmless for the schools to have a little advertising here, a little advertising there.  I didn’t see it as creating an atmosphere of inclusion/exclusion.

I got my first inkling when my youngest’s teacher sent home a consent form for her to go on a field trip to a local cement plant.  I refused to let her go.  Now, you’re thinking, “what on Earth is wrong with letting a child go to a cement plant?”

This cement plant was burning hazardous waste.  My mother’s instinct told me it was not a place to take a little one (or your own self, for that matter).

I was the only parent in the class that did not allow their child to go.  She spent the day at school without her class.

I later found out that the cement plant was also spewing mercury.  Yep. Oh, and Bill Clinton thinks that’s just great, too.  He was actually touting these cement plants as doing a good service by burning hazardous waste.

I tell you, I went by that plant every single day for three and a half years while driving on a road to the university.  There were days when this awful looking yellowish cloud just hung in the air over this plant.  And I drove through that air every day.  I’ve always wondered what I was exposed to — yet another source of mercury exposure.

It was also located within a couple of miles of the state hospital I worked at — more exposure.  And what about the impact on staff and patients?  Oh, who cares about them, right?  They’re just “useless eaters”  right? /snark

So I hope if any parent letting their child go on these field trips will reconsider and think about the message you’re sending to your child.  I would explain your concerns to them if you keep them from attending such an event.  And I would vocally object to schools using your child as a captive audience for corporations.

Gates promoting GMO’s through Academics

September 10, 2015 by eagle

Sleazebag control freak Bill Gates, along with Monsanto, Syngenta, et al, have funded under-the-radar efforts to give genetically modified organisms (GMO) a legitimacy that they do not deserve.  It creates this concept that there are no questions about these foods that are created to take even more toxic glyphosate.  In turn, that toxic poison on steroids is designed to kill living things by exploding their “guts” , while the plants themselves are altered so that the body does not recognize them, creating inflammation in the body, which can be deadly.

———————–

The Alliance for Science is a PR project and international training center for academics and others who want to work with the biotech industry to promote GMOs. It is funded ($5.6 million) by the Gates Foundation. Its upcoming program of speakers at Cornell for September include Tamar Haspel (Washington Post reporter), Amy Harmon (New York Times reporter) and Prof. Dan Kahan (Yale Law School).

————-

An example of that work:

Profs. Bruce Chassy (University of Illinois) and Alan McHughen (University of California, Riverside) who worked together to destroy the credibility of Russian scientist and GMO critic Irina Ermakova. They persuaded the journal Nature Biotechnology to interview Ermakova about her research and describe it. This interview was followed by a detailed critique of her research (about which none of the authors were expert).

—————–

I was expecting to see Purdue University as part of this sordid business, but the article doesn’t mention it.  I know that when I was there, Monsanto was giving heavily to the School of Agriculture and I imagine they still are.  When I took a Science Reporting class, I chose to report on GMO’s because at that time, circa 1998-2000, they were just being released into the public sphere.   Starlink corn  was in the news and the Clintons are intertwined with Monsanto –Bill allowing GMO’s into the food supply and the Rose Law Firm, of which Hillary was a partner, represented Monsanto.  Starlink is still being found in the food supply, despite assertions that its use was banned. Interesting, don’t you think?  As the first article mentions, corn pollination makes it practically impossible to control this stuff.  That is why it is so outrageous for monsanto to go after farmers like Percy Schmeiser, who suddenly find GMO crops growing in their fields even though they did not purchase GMO seed corn…suing them for something that is out of their control!  Schmeiser really exposed the ruthlessness of Monsanto and how they were constantly watching he and his wife and threatening them with harassing calls.   He claims after they had spoken at an event, a Monsanto toadie got in their faces and said that “nobody stands up to Monsanto! Nobody! We are going to get you one way or another!!”

As I’m watching Schmeiser  talk about the right to save seed and keeping terminator seeds out of the food supply…I think about us as kids putting peach seeds in cups of water and watching the roots grow.  As an adult, I tried doing the same thing…but the peach seeds would not sprout roots.  My son explained that they had engineered them so people could no longer grow their own food from seeds of fruit that they had eaten.  So…it’s not only farmers but ordinary folk who want to grow hobby plants or gardeners that want to take seeds from food they have bought that have had that right taken away.  As Schmeiser says– that gives all the power to seed companies like Monsanto, Syngenta, Dow — whom want to control all life by controlling the food supply.

Unfortunately, Schmeiser is too optimistic in his assertion that there was a big public uproar over introduction of GMO wheat…but mysteriously (or not) GMO wheat turned up in fields.

—————–

Juarez said there would not be any penalties or disciplinary action against Monsanto for the Oregon incident.

—————-

Well, of course not. Far be it for a billion dollar corporation to pay any freaking penalties or…perish the thought…be put out of business for REPEATEDLY VIOLATING RULES OF CONDUCT THAT THREATEN THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF THE PUBLIC!

…but that would take backbone and a moral compass…rare commodities nowadays…

The link to removal of blog posts defending US Right to Know is really interesting.

———————-

On Friday, August 21, PLOS removed Seife and Thacker’s post; in its place is a statement:

PLOS Blogs is, and will continue to be, a forum that allows scientists to debate controversial topics. However, given additional information for further inquiry and analysis, PLOS has determined that the Biologue post that had occupied this page, “The Fight over Transparency: Round Two,” was not consistent with at least the spirit and intent of our community guidelines. PLOS has therefore decided to remove the post, while leaving the comments on it intact. We believe that this topic is important and that it should continue to be discussed and debated, including on PLOS blogs and in PLOS research articles.

We sincerely apologize for any distress that the content of this post caused any individual. Comments and questions can be sent to blogs@plos.org

In an email to PLOS after the post disappeared, Seife (who forwarded the email to us) told PLOS Executive Editor Veronique Kiermer:

You say that our piece violated the standards of your site for engaging in civilized debate of matters of scientific importance.

Please explain in what manner we violated those standards?

We were peer reviewed and were deemed to meet the standards of your publication. We endured several rounds of *post-publication* legal and factual vetting — no doubt, a highly unusual procedure — and responded to all of your queries. When a minor factual error was found, concerning the state in which a proposition was being proposed (and the date of a letter), we immediately notified you and corrected it as appropriate. In short, we have behaved as expected of us. And we stand by our piece.

Yet not only do you pull our article without consulting us, or even hinting that this was in the works, you also leave critical comments of our piece out there for all to see — silencing us while giving critics full voice. (I’m surprised that your lawyers allowed this, by the way.)

So, please explain to us how we violated your standards so egregiously that you had to take this dramatic step.  And while you’re explaining, could you please go into a bit more detail about the increasing pressure from scientists that you received to remove our article from the site?

—————————————–

Seife goes on to say that PLOS never answered his questions as to why their free speech was quashed.  They have a right to their opinion and the public has a right to that information in order to make thoughtful decisions impacting their health and their very lives.

Speaking of yellow water…

September 9, 2015 by eagle

Here’s a visual of the damage done recently by the EPA:

Once it’s poisoned, you’re done.  The mercury alone makes it undrinkable.  Look at the miles of land it passes…and all the life that depends on it!

Water is essential for life.  You can possibly survive up to 30 days without food, but only three days without water…

Chiefs of 10 northern B.C. First Nations say province ignoring concerns over Site C and LNG developments

By Tamsyn Burgmann, The Canadian Press/CBC News, Sept 8, 2015

People once paddled great distances to set up fishing camps on the land where Liz Logan’s family has lived for generations in northern British Columbia.

Now Tsinhia Lake has yellowed, the fish have died and her family must carry in bottled water to drink.

The damage from oil and gas industries has prompted Logan, chief of the Fort Nelson First Nation, to help form an alliance with other aboriginal leaders against the provincial government.

B.C. First Nations to ‘do whatever it takes’ to stop grizzly bear trophy hunters

September 9, 2015 by eagle

I wish there was as much outrage for this as there was for the lion…
Killing another living thing just to pump up your ego is just plain wrong.
When I was a vegetarian, I really hated hunters because the only hunters I knew were like the trophy hunters– they bragged about their kill and seemed to get a thrill out of taking a life. However, after I learned of the Native American (and Canadian) way of honoring an animal by only taking what they needed and being grateful that the animal gave its life so they could survive, I had a different perspective on hunters. I still loathe trophy hunters, however.

Grizzly bear. Grizzly bear.

By Bethany Lindsay, Vancouver Sun,September 8, 2015

First Nations along B.C.’s north and central coasts are vowing to do whatever it takes to enforce a ban on trophy grizzly bear hunting in their traditional territories.

The Coastal First Nations alliance first announced the ban in 2012, but say that because the provincial government still issues trophy-hunting permits, bears are still being killed for their heads and paws.

$$$ Jeb Bush $$$ gets a little help from his friends $$$

September 9, 2015 by eagle

Richie Rich, er I mean, Jeb Bush, is getting a little help from his friends...the usual players — public school destruction architects who seek to make them for-profit…and this will be interesting to those whom have given to the Susan G. Komen foundation, thinking they were helping women and the fight against breast cancer — Nancy Brinker, founder, is giving a cool $50,000 to Bush.

People whom have fought breast cancer or had lost family members have their heart strings pulled by all the manipulative tactics of these organizations when too often the money goes for “administrative costs” and too little actually goes towards finding a cure.

But of course, anyone reading here for any length of time knows that they have pretty much found cures for cancer in the diet…and that information has been buried so these psychopaths could make big profits off of cancer treatment or should I say pretending to treat cancer…

The Daily News Outdoes Itself with a Masterpiece of Ugly Spirited Nonsense

September 8, 2015 by eagle

patrickwalsh's avatarRaginghorseblog

DN g

Even in a campaign based almost entirely on public relations and perception management, yesterday’s editorial on “education reform” in the Daily News may be the most dishonest, manipulative and ugly spirited I’ve ever read on the subject. And I’ve read a lot.

Indeed, the unsigned editorial might well be studied as a masterpiece of manipulative bullshit, chock a block full of absurd assertions, gross insults, lies of omission and out right falsehoods – all to do nothing less than to poison public perception of the teachers’ union on the eve of Labor Day.

The phantom editorialist begin be lamenting that Andrew Cuomo, he who referred to the public school system as “the last monopoly,” was wrong in calling for a weasel worded “comprehensive review” of the deceitful and catastrophic Common Core standards. (For a brilliant and concise history of this long term con job, see Common Core Dilemma
