Get me outta here!

Eagle

If you feel like an outcast, take heart. Sometimes the reason you don’t fit in is because you are surrounded by satanists and you are not. And they know it. And they may suddenly surround you, after so many years of mocking or belittling you. Because you have something they want. Don’t give your power to them. I am a truth teller and truth seeker.

Social Media: The Unsafety Net

October 12, 2014 by eagle

Be sure to click on the “read more” link. Women still being treated as objects. As extensions of men, therefore, men can do what they want when they want. Chaining a woman up like an animal and the fact that these men openly talk of this abuse speaks volumes….

Must read article in The Atlantic.

Excerpt:

In December 2012, an Icelandic woman named Thorlaug Agustsdottir discovered a Facebook group called “Men are better than women.” One image she found there, Thorlaug wrote to us this summer in an email, “was of a young woman naked chained to pipes or an oven in what looked like a concrete basement, all bruised and bloody. She looked with a horrible broken look at whoever was taking the pic of her curled up naked.” Thorlaug wrote an outraged post about it on her own Facebook page.

Before long, a user at “Men are better than women” posted an image of Thorlaug’s face, altered to appear bloody and bruised. Under the image, someone commented, “Women are like grass, they need to be beaten/cut regularly.” Another wrote: “You just need to be raped.” Thorlaug reported the image and comments to Facebook and requested that the…

Verdun trying to deal with menacing beavers

October 12, 2014 by eagle

…or beavers attempting to deal with menacing humans…
Notice how the reporter makes them out to be terrorists of the four legged kind…
It doesn’t really explain why this guy feels the need to get rid of the beavers. Nor does it explore how we humans can adapt to them, instead of, once again, forcing nature to adapt to us. Cutting down trees is a natural thing for beavers. Note that they try to make the point that there are no beaver dams being built there….so the beavers are going to all that work for…nothing? I rather doubt that. They perhaps are in the process of either building a dam or storing food for winter.

Most Absurd Article of the Day

October 12, 2014 by eagle

dianeravitch's avatarDiane Ravitch's blog

This is one of the silliest, most embarrassing articles I have read in a very long time. It was allegedly written by two teachers as a rebuke to Carol Burris, the experienced high school principal who has made a hash of Common Core in her many writings for Valerie Strauss’s Answer Sheet in the Washington Post.

The teacher who says she teaches kindergarten wants to make sure that her 5-year-old students are “college-and-career-ready.” Really? So if a 5-year-old can’t count to 100, they won’t have a career or go to college? Surely, she jests.

Has she ever heard of “Defending the Early Years,” an organization of early childhood experts who believe the Common Core standards are indeed developmentally inappropriate. In this article, Professor Nancy Carlsson-Paige says that it is “ridiculous” to expect little children to count to 100. So what if they learn to do it next year or…

WATCH: Must-see videos of the week

October 11, 2014 by eagle

You’ll laugh…you’ll cry…
Here in my neck of the woods, the dramatic footage of police violating a person’s rights. You have the right to refuse to give identification if you are not under arrest. Now, I’ve heard a pondit saying that you must give ID when you’re pulled over for a traffic stop, but the way this was going down, the police were acting aggressively, like the fire fighter in Fort Wayne, and they had a reason to be in fear. Their instincts were spot on when the officer broke the window and then tasered this unarmed man. The little girl crying just tops it off. Do you think she is going to feel safe and protected?
Further down is the video on the 29 year old diagnosed with cancer. The first question we should ask is “how did she get it?” 29 year olds should not be getting cancer. I keep hearing of more and more cases of cancer and other afflictions in the young and it scares the hell out of me. It’s just more indication of how toxic our environment has become and we need to think long and hard about what we as individuals are doing to contribute (did she use a cell phone? Does she live near cell towers or power lines?) When I saw this video the first time, it brought me to tears as she spoke of not wanting to suffer. I thought of my Dad and how he was suffering in the end, and how they did not want to give him enough meds to stop the pain because if they gave him too much, “his heart would stop”. Well, he was DYING folks. There is no reason to allow that suffering. There was no hope for my Dad. This gal, however, makes me uneasy in that she is so young…I always want to hold out hope that the youth can overcome it. But I don’t want to see another suffer, either. Blessings to her and her family…tough times for them right now.

Why I can’t celebrate Malala’s Nobel Peace Prize.

October 11, 2014 by eagle

A sobering post that throws a different perspective on the situation. One cannot deny the hypocrisy. It’s pretty bad when even a member of the Defense Dept. has reservations about it. We need to reexamine this and the video-game atmosphere of drone strikes.

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded this Friday to India’s Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan’s Malala Yousafzai for their struggles against the suppression of children and for young people’s rights, including the right to education. That is great news, and it might almost mean Nobel Peace Prize makes sense again, after being awarded to Barack Obama in 2009 “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”, and to European Union in 2012 “for over six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe”.

Still, there is something that really troubles me. How come we (meaning the West) always recognize the “devils” of the East, the torments children like Malala had to and have to go through (in her case, with the Taliban), but always fail to recognize our own participation in creating those “devils”? How come we never…

Manitoba government says changes to child welfare will take years

October 9, 2014 by eagle

Why does it take *years* to implement social programs…and *days* to mobilize the military to drop bombs?? Granted, this is Canada, but the same story could be written about our social programs, specifically towards children, the poor, the elderly.

Banning circumcision

October 9, 2014 by eagle

Actor Alan Cumming has spoken out against infant circumcision.  I agree with the thought that it is mutilation.  Leave them alone, and if the boy decides he wants to be circumcised as an adult, he has that option.

I wrote about this in a previous blog.
