Get me outta here!

Eagle

If you feel like an outcast, take heart. Sometimes the reason you don’t fit in is because you are surrounded by satanists and you are not. And they know it. And they may suddenly surround you, after so many years of mocking or belittling you. Because you have something they want. Don’t give your power to them. I am a truth teller and truth seeker.

Petition against forced vaccinations

February 6, 2015 by eagle

I can’t even believe that we have to petition to have autonomy over our own bodies!  But here it is…

They are now calling for forced vaccinations of staff and children at a daycare center in Chicago due to five babies coming down with Measles.

Again, I repeat, MEASLES IS NOT A DEADLY DISEASE.  There are very few deaths, AND those death probably could have been prevented through a non-gluten diet, unpolluted air, and unpolluted water.  Parents, if your child has measles, you need to supplement with Vitamin A.  When given to children with Measles, they avoid the more serious complications such as pnuemonia.  Perhaps juicing carrots would be the way to go.

Be well, my friends…

Terry Richardson still shooting mainstream mag photos

February 4, 2015 by eagle

Why is an alleged predator still shooting mag covers for Rolling Stone and Bazaar? In this piece that Vogue distanced itself when Richardson’s predatory behavior was being talked about last year.

So…they have quietly decided that Richardson “wasn’t so bad, after all?”

Or perhaps they hoped that once the brouhaha died down, that no one would notice they were once again working with this creep?

By all accounts, he’s not even that good of a photographer, using overexposure as a way to….look sophisticated…?

My other posts on Richardson:

Two Exciting New Resources

February 4, 2015 by eagle

Carol A. Hand's avatarVoices from the Margins

Carol A. Hand

Today, I would like to share news about two new resources.

A new ebook is available as a free resource for teachers here.

ebook

Michelle Ford, author and editor of the ebook, was inspired by her students to write down and publish the stories she tells during her classes. She asked other teachers to contribute and I was honored to be among them. Michelle describes the history and purpose of this new, free publication in English and Spanish.

What’s this? Thank you for downloading this e-book, which is free. This e-book includes stories and fictionalized life anecdotes written by English teachers in Spain for EFL students/learners, and stories by a university teacher in the USA who has recently retired. Other materials include teachers’ own explanations and insight about learning and issues dealt with in their lessons.

Las historias han sido escritas por profesoras de inglés en la enseñanza…

Indiana: Legislature Likely to Act to Hobble Ritz, Unions, Push Their Own Agenda

February 4, 2015 by eagle

dianeravitch's avatarDiane Ravitch's blog

Indiana may be a textbook example of legislative meddling in education. Every legislator went to school (presumably), so they all know how to solve education problems. Certainly, they would not allow educators to be involved in such weighty matters!

At the top of their agenda is their determination to eliminate State Superintendent Glenda Ritz’s job, even though she still has the title. They seem sure to pass bills that removes all authority from her elected position and transfers it to the state board of education, which was appointed by Governor Mike Pence. They are also intent on passing legislation to cripple teachers’ unions. Although they repealed the Common Core adoption in the last session, they have not yet decided what to do about new standards and assessments. This would normally be an issue that would be resolved by the State Superintendent and the Department of Education, but the Indiana legislature…

Corn: The downfall of societies?

February 4, 2015 by eagle

Gene Logsdon, the Contrary Farmer, has an interesting post up on the correlation between the downfall of societies and corn.

From the post:

~~~~~
In Mayan culture and in the Late Prehistoric Age of the mound-building American Indians, corn was the major crop. It’s what they mostly ate. Archeologists are finding evidence that this diet led to deteriorating health and maybe was the main reason the mound-building Indians seemed to mysteriously disappear about a thousand years ago. The collapse of the mound-building culture and the collapse of the Mayan civilization earlier coincided with an agriculture and diet dominated by corn. In both cases, rising population and diminishing soil fertility encouraged war and instability because the only way the people knew to maintain high corn yields was to find new land to grow it on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Perhaps celiac disease developed in the corn-centered diet and the continual eating of corn further inflamed their guts to the point of death?  Or to the point of inability of the gut to digest food properly, and they died of malnutrition and disease due to their gut being unable to mount an attack when a pathogen appeared?

The more I read of farming, the more convinced I am that diverse farms are the answer to soil depletion of nutrients and beneficial organisms; to fight off harmful insects (or at least keep them in check).  I was just reading about planting beets yesterday, and they recommended not planting them in the same spot year after year.  The mistake that most beginner gardeners make is thinking that since a plant did so well in one spot, that they should plant the same plant there again the next year.  Nope.  They were saying that beets are “heavy eaters” in that they take up a lot of nutrients, therefore one needs to plant something else the next year to put nutrients back into the soil.  This also goes along with composting food scraps, leaves, twigs, and dirt, because they also put nutrients back into the soil.

Belichick photo of kissing his daughter

February 3, 2015 by eagle

Pic here.  I have one word:  ick.  And it has nothing to do with me wanting the Seahawks to win over cheating Patriots …but everything to do with a passionate kiss between a father and daughter that is highly inappropriate.

Natural pest control

February 3, 2015 by eagle

Farmer’s Almanac has a video up on natural pest control in the garden.  Marigolds are mentioned a lot when I have researched this, as they put off a scent the bugs don’t like.  They repel caterpillars from tomatoes, for one.
