Plastic in your toothpaste

Boy, I didn’t see *this* coming. /snarky to the extreme.

Plastic here, plastic there, plastic everywhere.

I think the best way to understand this is:  put a piece of plastic wrap covering your face.  Can you breathe?  Neither can the ocean and all the life it contains….

It disgusts me that I even have to buy products with plastic containers.  I want to use reusabe containers such as glass.  I think most folks believe that if they put their plastics in recycling bins, that makes it okay.  Plastic is not really recyclable — they can make it into different products, but they cannot get rid of it.  I don’t think most folks understand this.

For the record, I use baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves for my toothpaste. It works very well — better than commercial toothpaste.  My teeth actually feel clean afterwards.

And there are a number of natural things one can use for facial care:  lemon juice or honey or egg whites for exfoliating; coconut or safflower or avocado oil for moisturizing.

And you might recall the deodorant I use:  a half and half mixture of coconut oil and chemical-free baking soda.  (No plastic container to throw into the ocean).

Lastly, I also use olive oil soap not only for the body, but as a shampoo, as well.  It lathers quite well and leaves my hair soft and shiny.  No bottle to throw into the ocean.

And the journey goes on…
