You’ll laugh…you’ll cry…
Here in my neck of the woods, the dramatic footage of police violating a person’s rights. You have the right to refuse to give identification if you are not under arrest. Now, I’ve heard a pondit saying that you must give ID when you’re pulled over for a traffic stop, but the way this was going down, the police were acting aggressively, like the fire fighter in Fort Wayne, and they had a reason to be in fear. Their instincts were spot on when the officer broke the window and then tasered this unarmed man. The little girl crying just tops it off. Do you think she is going to feel safe and protected?
Further down is the video on the 29 year old diagnosed with cancer. The first question we should ask is “how did she get it?” 29 year olds should not be getting cancer. I keep hearing of more and more cases of cancer and other afflictions in the young and it scares the hell out of me. It’s just more indication of how toxic our environment has become and we need to think long and hard about what we as individuals are doing to contribute (did she use a cell phone? Does she live near cell towers or power lines?) When I saw this video the first time, it brought me to tears as she spoke of not wanting to suffer. I thought of my Dad and how he was suffering in the end, and how they did not want to give him enough meds to stop the pain because if they gave him too much, “his heart would stop”. Well, he was DYING folks. There is no reason to allow that suffering. There was no hope for my Dad. This gal, however, makes me uneasy in that she is so young…I always want to hold out hope that the youth can overcome it. But I don’t want to see another suffer, either. Blessings to her and her family…tough times for them right now.
